St. Augustine Lighthouse

Here are a few more of the angles that you get to see the lighthouse at. It is surrounded by the signature curving trees covered in spanish moss so it is hard to see it from afar. After a quick google, I see these are called casey trees for future reference.

Candle on the Water

St. Augustine LightHouse, Florida

As Kentucky finally hit its first few days of winter, cold and snow, we decided to take a small trip to Florida. Luckily we have made friends in the Orlando area who can help us out on showing us some cool places. One was the Lighthouse in St. Augustine where you can take the estimated 219 steps to the top for an amazing view. My first task was to get a decent panoramic with that view. So here are the two Panoramic Images that were captured on that slightly rainy day. Soon, you will get to see it from other angles, like ground level.

Domes & Dripstones of Kentucky

Traveling doesn’t have to be far

After our adventure out west, we took a mini trip to Mammoth Cave of Kentucky. We just couldn’t get enough of exploring and what better to explore than a cave? There are many tours to choose from but we figured the “domes and dripstones” tour had more of the interesting structures for us. Unfortunately there is a catch to most tours – no tripods and no flash. So HDR images and low lit areas in the cave images suffered a bit.

Alas, it was a good day of walking under the earths soil and capturing some of the well lit Stalactites and Stalagmites. Its hard to believe the earth can be just as colorful just below the surface in the earths darkest of places. Here are a few spots where we had the wiggle room to take a few photos.
