Marmot

Camping Beauty

I wanted to get that prefect camping scenerio photograph and the Wolf Creek area was perfect in my opinion. I may have no gotten the lighting I wanted or the perfect pose but this was real and it was beautiful. I very much enjoy our Marmot Tent. Not to be too much of an advertisement but I recommend looking into it if ever the camping need. We got ours at REI. We had the rainfly rigged half on so we could take in nature through the mesh but also be a little more protected from wind. It definitely did the job on all accounts. I just thought I would share that with you 🙂

Rock Hopping

Sand Harbor Rocks at Sunset

So we made it to the eastern south side of the lake, Sand Harbor, where there are huge rocks laying in the shore line. Sandy was not exactly sandy it was boulders we had to jump, hop, scale and tromp over these rocks to get to a desired location for sunset…here is my favorite. I can’t help it, panoramic can give the full sense of what it was like to be there in my shoes.

PSPHOTO; Wait…maybe this is my favorite. Gosh I can’t decide! I always loved the water and sunset mixture in photographs. Especially when it gives you color to play with! It was worth having cold feet and a work out to get a photo like this.

Seeking Sunset

h2>Finding a good location

We wanted to see what the rest of the lake had to offer. We went to see some boats at the Ski Run Marina hoping for a good sunset image. Had it not closed you may have gotten some interesting sites from on the water. Since we couldn’t get closer to the boats we decided to move upward along the lake.

PSPHOTO ; We found Sand Harbor and decided to find a spot in this area to shoot our sunset.
Interestingly enough, we had to get down into the boulders to get get a happy spot. I like this shot with the flare but…I needed more. Let us find a way down to the water, shall we?

Living Water

South Lake Tahoe

This so far has been my favorite spot. Not only was the lake stunning, the town atmosphere was quite adorable and pleasant as well. It was really hard to me to choose the few images I wanted to showcase right away. We went to the visitor center which has a trail leading to a beach of the Lake. Of course I took a day time panoramic of the view. Couldn’t ask for better weather and view at the same time. This Lake is truly alive and it can inspire you.

PSPHOTO ; The trail to the beach was scenic and when you emerge from the trees you are greeted with rocks and flowers. Then your feet meet the sand that leads you across peoples into the water.

Wolf Creek

No wolves but beautiful creek

We finally make our way through Salt Lake City and get into Wolf Creek Camping in the very early morning. It was a heck of a drive up to the location but the end result did not fail! Camping near a babbling creek with the birds morning chirps make it very easy to sleep. The sun broke over the mountains and that tells me it is time for photos! Good thing I brought my rain boots because walking in the creek was extremely fun. Again, bringing me back to childhood. To be honest, I wanted to see a bear at a very respectful distance but we haven’t really seen any major wildlife. Oh well. I did get to see the damage of forest fires in the California area. I have a few images of it on my Facebook page, CruisingCamera.

PSPHOTO ; A little down the ways of the mountain is another creek we decided to play at. Just to give you another tag along image. I don’t want you missing a thing!
